鎮靜鋼板是由普通碳素結構鋼鎮靜鋼熱軋制成的鋼板。鎮靜鋼是脫氧完全的鋼，鋼液在澆注前用錳鐵、硅鐵和鋁等進行充分脫氧，鋼液含氧量低（一般為0.002-0.003%），鋼液在鋼錠模中較平靜，不產生沸騰現象，鎮靜鋼由此得名。
